Sachin Tendulkar's name appears in the 'Pandora Papers' leak, which purports to reveal his offshore dealings

Around 600 journalists from the media are involved in the Pandora Papers investigation, which is based on the leak of 11.9 million data from 14 financial services. In the examination of the Pandora Papers, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), which includes investigative journalists from the BBC and The Guardian newspaper in the United Kingdom, has cited some well-known names and important world leaders.

Indian cricket star Sachin Tendulkar has been mentioned in the list of celebrities provided by Pandora Papers regarding his financial activities, causing tremors throughout the cricketing world. Tendulkar is a ‘Beneficial Owner’ of the British Virgin Islands (BVI), an offshore organisation.

According to the newspaper, “people linked to offshore assets by the secret records include India’s cricket hero Sachin Tendulkar, pop music diva Shakira, supermodel Claudia Schiffer, and an Italian mobster known as ‘Lell the Fat One.’”

Tendulkar’s attorney, on the other hand, has maintained that all of Tendulkar’s investments are legal and have been reported to the authorities. The report said, “Mr. Tendulkar’s counsel said the cricketer’s investment is genuine and has been notified to tax authorities.”

Many people believe Sachin Tendulkar to be one of the best willow wielders in the history of cricket. During his spectacular 24-year career, the ‘God of Cricket’ set a slew of records. Tendulkar is the all-time leading run scorer in Test cricket (15921) and ODI cricket (18426), and he is the only batter in history with 100 international centuries. Sachin Tendulkar is also the first cricketer in history to play in 200 Test matches.
