Mumbai Indians ropes in Simarjeet Singh as Arjun Tendulkar's replacement

In the present UAE edition of the IPL, Mumbai Indians have drafted Delhi seamer Simarjeet Singh to replace the injured Arjun Tendulkar. The 23-year-old has begun practising with the team after completing the obligatory quarantine, according to a press release from the franchise. In the IPL, Arjun and Simarjeet are both uncapped. Arjun was selected by the franchise for his base price of INR 20 lakh at the 2021 auction. Simarjeet Singh, 23, has appeared in 15 domestic T20 matches, taking 18 wickets at an economy rate of 7.76. In ten first-class games, he has 37 wickets.

The defending champions, Mumbai Indians, are presently sixth in the points rankings with five wins in 11 games. When the Mumbai Indians take on the Delhi Capitals in Sharjah on October 2, they will be looking to break free from their mid-table rut.

Mumbai Indians beat Punjab Kings by six wickets in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday to go back on track. MI’s three-game losing run was broken, and Rohit Sharma was pleased.

With 6 balls and 6 wickets in hand, Mumbai chased down the 136-run goal. After the bowlers did their job yet again, limiting the opposition to a manageable score, it was Saurabh Tiwary and Hardik Pandya who provided key contributions to help Mumbai maintain their winning momentum as the competition progressed.

Hardik Pandya’s return to form was the game’s biggest positive. In his 30-ball 40-run undefeated innings, the right-hander hammered four fours and two sixes while capping the chase with a maximum off Mohammed Shami.

With 10 points, Mumbai has moved up to fifth place in the points standings, level with the fourth-placed Kolkata Knight Riders. On Saturday afternoon in Sharjah, they face the Delhi Capitals.
