It is a massive boost for England to get Ben Stokes back in the side for The Ashes Rory Burns

Rory Burns, an England cricketer, believes that the inclusion of all-rounder Ben Stokes in the Test squad for the highly anticipated Ashes series against Australia is a significant boost for the team. England wanted to travel to Australia with their best lineup, according to Burns, and Stokes undoubtedly adds value to the team.

“Stokesy’s return to the team is certainly a huge boost. You already know how good a player he is. Having a guy of his calibre back in our side is a huge boost for us. It’s great because we wanted to come out here and have the best side we could, and obviously Ben adds to that,” Rory Burns told The Guardian. Even though Ben Stokes is a senior member of the England team, he believes that each and every member of the squad will play an essential part. Joe Root has been dubbed “England’s finest ever willow wielder” by Stokes, who also lauded veteran bowlers James Anderson and Stuart Broad.

Despite the fact that I’ve been a senior member of that team for a few years, every member of the team is equally significant. Jimmy (Anderson) and Broady (Stuart Broad) are two people who have clearly been there and done that. “We’ve got everything to come back to Australia with what they’ve got with Rooty — wonderful leader and England’s greatest-ever batter,” Ben Stokes said.

The 2021 Ashes series will begin on December 8, 2021, with the first Test being held at The Gabba in Brisbane. The latest Ashes series, which took place in 2019, ended in a 2-2 draw between England and Australia. The Ashes preparation phase will be led by England Men’s Assistant Coach Graham Thorpe until Head Coach Chris Silverwood returns from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

The playing group and management will spend their 14-day quarantine period on the Gold Coast before heading to Brisbane later this month to play two intra-squad warm-up matches. Following the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, members of England’s Test team – Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Chris Woakes, and Mark Wood – will travel to Australia from the UAE.
