Liam Livingstone suffers shoulder injury, looks doubtful for second leg of IPL 2021

The Rajasthan Royals have been one of the most injured teams this season, and they may now be without another great player, Liam Livingstone, who has suffered a shoulder injury. Rajasthan will already be without the services of Jofra Archer, who will be unavailable due to injury this year, and Jos Buttler, who will be absent due to the birth of his child.

Ben Stokes, who has been absent from the ongoing test series against India due to an indefinite hiatus from the game, has yet to be confirmed. Livingstone’s injury may be the last thing the Royals wanted, and they’ll be hoping it doesn’t keep him out of the series.

Lancashire Cricket reported on Twitter that Liam Livingstone had injured his shoulder while fielding on the boundary, and that he had left the field immediately. Livingstone was replaced on the field by Richard Gleeson, and the county side was understandably disappointed to be without so many injured players. In the last few months, Livingstone has been in incredible form, and he also had a fantastic Hundred tournament.

His outstanding performance inspired cricket legends such as Shane Warner to demand for his call-up to the Test team during the India series. However, now that he has been injured, he will most certainly be sidelined for at least a month. That means he’ll be out for the first few games of the IPL 2021 season. However, if the situation worsens, he could be ruled out of the tournament entirely, as England will not risk him before the T20 World Cup.

With three victories in seven games, Rajasthan Royals are in fifth place in the points table, and they’ll need to get it right in the UAE leg if they want to make the playoffs.
