Kuldeep Yadav ruled out of the IPL 2021 due to knee injury, to be out for 4-6 months

Kuldeep Yadav has been ruled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) as he is said to have suffered a severe knee injury and has already returned to India. Kuldeep will be out of action for at least 4-6 months as he must go through a lengthy recovery process before returning to competitive cricket. Kuldeep Yadav twisted his knee during a practise session with the squad in the UAE, according to a top BCCI official.

“Yes, we learned that Kuldeep suffered a serious knee injury during a practise session in the UAE. He twisted his knee while fielding, and it was pretty bad at that point”, the Times of India, the official stated, “There was no way he could have taken any more role and been sent back to India.”

Kuldeep Yadav recently underwent surgery in Mumbai and is expected to take a lengthy time to recuperate from his injury, according to reports. He’ll also be out for most of the domestic season. “Knee injuries are really painful. Starting work and then regaining strength through hard physiotherapy sessions at the NCA, followed by lower intensity training, and eventually beginning net sessions is a lengthy process.”

Another insider stated, “It can’t be guaranteed with surety that Kuldeep will be match ready by the time the Ranji Trophy ends.”

This is a major setback for the bowler, who hasn’t had many opportunities in the IPL or at the international level. After a stellar first couple of years for India, Kuldeep’s stock plummeted following the 2019 World Cup, and despite being in the Test squad, he never received enough opportunities. He has also not played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a long time and has only appeared on a few occasions in the last two seasons. Kuldeep Yadav recently stated his dissatisfaction with KKR’s treatment of him during the last two IPL seasons.
