India will play two warm-up matches against England and Australia before T20 World Cup 2021

The T20 World Cup 2021 will be hosted in the United Arab Emirates in the months of October and November and the Indian team, led by Virat Kohli, is one of the favourites to win the T20 World Cup. On the 24th of October 2021, India will begin their campaign in the T20 World Cup against arch-rivals Pakistan, but Kohli and his team will also play a few practise matches before that. India will play two warm-up matches, one against England and the other against Australia.

“Yes, India will face England and Australia in warm-up games, which will be televised on Star,” industry insiders confirmed to ANI. South Africa and the defending champions, West Indies, are in Group 1 with the Aussies and the Englishmen. Two more qualifiers will join them, and only two teams out of six from each group will advance to the ICC semi-finals. The Blues, on the other hand, have a much simpler league campaign ahead of them. Apart from Pakistan, New Zealand and Afghanistan are the two teams that will enter the league round as favourites.

In the maiden edition of the T20 World Cup, held in 2007, the Indian cricket team came out victorious. In South Africa, the then-MS Dhoni-led Indian team made history by defeating arch-rivals Pakistan in the tournament’s final match.

The last time India came close to winning the T20 World Cup was in 2014, when they reached the final of the event. India were then defeated by a tenacious Sri Lankan side by six wickets.
