IND vs NZ: BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to ring the bell at Eden Gardens ahead of third T20I

On November 21, 2021, the famous Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata will host the third T20I between India and New Zealand. And, prior to the game, Sourav Ganguly, the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), will ring the bell to herald the commencement of the third T20I between the two teams. India has a 1-0 advantage in the three-match series. Rohit Sharma and his team put forth a comprehensive performance in the first T20I to defeat their opponents. In their 20-over quota, the Kiwis concluded with a total of 164/6.

With 5 wickets and 2 deliveries to spare, the Indian team cruised to victory. Suryakumar Yadav led India to victory with a brilliant 62 off the willow. Sourav Ganguly, the current BCCI President and former Indian captain, is one of Indian cricket’s all-time greats. In a 16-year international career, the ‘Prince of Kolkata’ represented India in 113 Tests and 311 One-Day Internationals. While Ganguly amassed 7212 runs in Test cricket, he amassed a staggering 11363 runs in one-day international cricket. In international cricket, he scored a total of 38 hundreds.

The game’s internet ticket sales will begin on Friday. “Given the level of interest in this game,” CAB treasurer Debashish Ganguly said on Thursday, “we’ll be allotting a few additional tickets that can be sold online.” Ganguly was recently named Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket Committee. He surpassed Anil Kumble, who held the position for three terms beginning in 2012.

Ganguly was also a natural leader, having guided India to the NatWest Series triumph in 2002 and the ODI World Cup final in 2003. In the year 2008, Ganguly played his final international match for India. Following his retirement, the cricket icon moved to the commentary box, and then into cricket administration, where he is currently the President of the BCCI.
