Fans of Team India enraged as Virat Kohli was once again caught chasing a delivery wide outside the off-stump.

The Indian Test skipper was dismissed again in the second innings after chasing a ball outside the off-stump. Kohli was also removed on the first ball after lunch as his bat was launched for a cover drive. Kohli was taken out by debutant Marco Jansen. Kohli had provided a strong start in the first innings before being bowled chasing a wide pitch outside-off. Kohli scored 35 runs in the first innings but only 18 runs in the second. Since 2019, the Indian Test captain has failed to hit three figures, with his most recent Test half-century coming against England at the Oval in September.

Earlier, on Day 4 of the first Test at the SuperSport Park in Centurion, South Africa held India at bay in the opening session. With India losing Shardul Thakur and opener KL Rahul early in the session, Kohli and Pujara remained on the crease at the end of the session. India lost Mayank Agarwal’s wicket on the verge of stumps on Tuesday, but the visitors still led the first Test after Day Three. In the third session, India had bowled South Africa out for 197 runs before losing Mayank’s wicket minutes before the end of the play. India reached 16/1 at stumps with a 146-run advantage thanks to Shardul Thakur and KL Rahul.

On Day 3, Mohammed Shami took a five-wicket haul and reached 200 wickets in the game’s longest format.
