BCCI invites state unit officials to the IPL final, Qualifier 2

The BCCI has invited the Presidents and Secretaries of its affiliated units to see the Indian Premier League (IPL) Qualifier 2 and the final in the UAE. As the domestic season begins, BCCI secretary Jay Shah wrote to the officials, “now is a perfect opportunity to catch up.”

“Let’s get together in Sharjah for Qualifier 2 and then in Dubai for the grand final. We’ve planned an itinerary for you, and my team will make sure you have a fantastic time here “, Shah stated in his letter.

The IPL’s second season is approaching its conclusion, with clubs vying for a spot in the play-offs. The qualifier will take place on October 13, followed by the final on October 15. The BCCI secretary also stated that having the rest of the IPL in the UAE is a “blessing in disguise” for the players since it allows them to prepare for the T20 World Cup. The T20 World Cup will go off on October 17 in Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

“In retrospect, this appears to be a gift in disguise, as there cannot be a greater preparation ground than a tournament of the IPL’s scale, especially with the T20 World Cup coming up shortly after. I am convinced that the IPL’s second phase will provide great preparation for the World Cup, and that Team India will be in the finest possible shape.”

In other news, BCCI has just sounded the trumpet for the sale of Indian Premier League (IPL) media rights, which will be the cricket industry’s biggest war-cry for the next six months.

“IPL media rights tender for the cycle 2023-27 will be launched immediately after the appointment of two new IPL franchises,” the Cricket Board said in a statement late Tuesday.

Because the two new clubs will be announced on October 25, the BCCI is expected to release the Invitation To Tender (ITT) for the IPL’s next media rights cycle before the end of October.
