BCB permits Shakib, Mustafizur to play in IPL 2021

As the home series against England has been rescheduled, the Bangladesh Cricket Board declared on Tuesday that they are now willing to issue its cricketers a no-objection certificate to play in the rest of the Indian Premier League 2021.

BCB had previously declared that they are not willing to offer Shakib al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman a no-objection certificate as they expected them to be with the national squad for the next T20 WC preparations.

“Yes, if they apply and if we don’t have any international commitment they can go and take part in IPL. We are yet to receive any official letter from them in this regard and if we get that, board will take a decision,” BCB’s cricket operation chairman Akram Khan said.

It has been revealed that England Men’s planned trip of Bangladesh, which was set to take place in September and October, will now take place in March 2023. England and Wales Cricket Board and Bangladesh Cricket Board have agreed to reschedule the tour, which will include three One Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals in the first two weeks of March 2023 in Dhaka and in Chattogram.

In terms of the IPL, it will conclude on October 15, only two days before the T20 World Cup begins. The opening round of the major event will take place on October 17, followed by the Super 12 on October 23.
