Bharat’s position as India’s bowling coach came to an end recently, where he played a key role in building the techniques and skills of talented players in the Indian squad. His cricketing footprint places him at the highest pedestal, as he has represented India at the highest level and even played an important part in the domestic circuit for Tamil Nadu. Due to a conflict, he was forced to leave the IPL in 2017 to fulfil his national contract with Team India.

But now, since his tenure with team India came to an end, he is available full time with no obligation to anyone. “I’m ecstatic to be a part of such a successful franchise as the Knight Riders, and I’m looking forward to it.” In a statement released by KKR, Arun stated, “I have admired the Knight Riders franchise for not just being highly successful in the IPL and throughout the world in T20 tournaments, but also for the way it is very professionally operated.”

He received a warm welcome from the KKR head coach, Brendan McCullum. “With a strong and successful international pedigree, I’m certain Arun will complement the current team, and I’m forward to working with him. As we try to swiftly align a fresh set of players to the ideals and style of play for KKR, his international experience and ability to instil confidence and clarity in our bowling group will be critical,” added the former New Zealand captain.
