Dinesh Karthik may have been somewhat quiet with the bat in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) past three IPL matches, but he returned to hitting amazing finishes on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium. Karthik smashed 30 runs in eight balls for RCB against Sunrisers Hyderabad, including 22 in the last over alone.

In his brief time at the bat, Karthik smashed one four and four sixes. It brought his season total to 274 runs in 12 innings, with a strike rate of 200.00. He had not played international cricket in almost three years before he entered the competition. He’d also been a fixture on the sidelines for a number of international series. His efforts as a finisher for RCB, though, have prompted requests for him to be included in India’s T20 World Cup team this year.
