BCCI intends to organize day-night Test in Bangalore during Sri Lanka’s tour of India
Team India is going through a tight schedule as they are scheduled to play against the West Indies in an upcoming ODI and Test series. After these matches, Sri Lanka will be at our doors for a tour that will see a 3 match T20I and 2 match Test series pan out. The venues for the test series have been finalized and they will be held in Bangalore and Mohali.
And while the BCCI was planning this schedule, they thought about fitting in a third day-night Test match against the Lankans that might be played in Bangalore due to better dew conditions. It would be the first time for Team India to play a day-night test in Bangalore. This venue has come up on top of the decision chain because hosting it in Mohali posed difficulties due to the dew factor.
According to a source of crictracker.com, “The first two Twenty20 Internationals of the tour could be played at Dharamshala before the series proceeds to Mohali for the third T20I and the first Test. Lucknow may not be able to host a Twenty20 International. It will be difficult to conduct the pink ball test at Mohali since dew is predicted to play a significant influence. The BCCI, on the other hand, is still keeping an eye on the Covid-19 situation in the country. A final decision on the schedule will be made soon”.
