Ravichandran Ashwin, an experienced India off-spinner, was ranked second in both the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings for bowlers and all-rounders on Wednesday. Ravindra Jadeja maintained his third-place finish among Test all-rounders.

Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli remained in fifth and seventh place on the Test hitters’ rankings, respectively. Kohli has 756 rating points, while Rohit has 797 rating points.

Marnus Labuschagne is the top Test batsman, followed by England captain Joe Root and Kane Williamson of New Zealand, who has ousted Steve Smith from third place. The top ten are Rohit Sharma, David Warner, Virat Kohli, Dimuth Karunaratne, Babar Azam, and Travis Head.

Ashwin is the sole Indian in the top-10 Test bowlers, sitting in second place with 883 rating points. Pat Cummins, Australia’s Test skipper, is still in the lead, while Pakistan’s left-arm bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is third, ahead of Tim Southee and James Anderson.

Australia Test rookie Scott Boland made his maiden appearance in the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings for bowlers after his outstanding performance in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG. The 32-year-old Victoria fast bowler is rated 74th with 271 points after his six for seven run spell in England’s second innings on Tuesday.

Boland finished with a seven-wicket match total as Australia cruised to a 14-run victory. The Indian combination of Ashwin (360) and Jadeja (346) are ranked below West Indies’ Jason Holder (382) in the Test all-rounders list. Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh is fourth, while Mitchell Starc has edged Ben Stokes out of fifth position. England is now in fourth place, ahead of Pakistan.
