Ashwell Prince, Bangladesh’s batting coach, has resigned from his position with immediate effect. Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s chief executive, confirmed the news to Cricbuzz on Wednesday (February 9). “He (Ashwell) has resigned, and his resignation letter has been received,” Nizamuddin added. As a result, Prince will not accompany Bangladesh on their next trip to South Africa.

Prince entered Bangladesh last year, despite the fact that he was only hired for the Zimbabwe series. His contract was supposed to end by the 2021 T20 WC, but BCB extended it due to his amazing track record. After Ottis Gibson’s recent decision not to extend his contract, Prince is the second member of the Bangladesh coaching staff to leave. The BCB’s choice to hire their recently appointed batting specialist, Jamie Siddons, in the national set-up is thought to have influenced his decision.
