For the next three matches of the Ashes series, Pat Cummins and fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will return to the Australian Test lineup. Both of these players were unable to participate in the second Test.

While Cummins was ruled out owing to a hamstring issue, Hazlewood was ruled out due to contact with a Covid-19 positive person prior to the Test match. As a result, Australia’s roster for the remainder of the Ashes series has remained unchanged.

Cricket Australia has confirmed the same. “For the remaining Vodafone Ashes Test matches in Melbourne, Sydney, and Hobart, Australia has announced an unchanged 15-man squad.” On Tuesday and Wednesday, Australia will have a travel day and a relaxation day,” according to a statement provided by Cricket Australia.

So far in the Ashes series, Australia has overpowered England. The Australians are on the approach of victory in the second Test at the Adelaide Oval, after decimating the Joe Root-led side by 9 wickets at The Gabba in the first Test.

In their first innings, Australia scored 473 runs, while England responded with 236 runs. The Kangaroos did not enforce the follow-on and declared their second innings with a score of 230/9, setting England a huge 468-run mark.

At the time of writing, England is on 142/6, with the Kangaroos four wickets away from victory. The third Ashes Test match will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 26, 2021. (MCG).
