IPL appears to have worked its magic in people’s minds and pockets even before it began. Andy Flower has left his coaching responsibilities for Multan Sultan in the PSL and has travelled to India to attend the IPL 2022 mega auction. He is a highly accomplished cricketer from Zimbabwe, and his services are in demand throughout the cricketing fraternity.

He will serve as the new head coach of the brand new Lucknow team for the upcoming IPL season. According to Pakistani media, Flower will return on February 10 to take back his role before a major match against Karachi Kings that starts on February 16.

For 10 days, PSL will be without the presence of Andy, and it can be rightly understood why Andy prioritised IPL over PSL. The IPL is a cash-rich league that provides a huge opportunity for all the talented players and coaches to earn loads of money and publicity. Although his absence won’t hurt his PSL team much, Flower has made necessary arrangements for his absence.

Some cricket pundits speculated that Andy Flower might be considered for the position of England cricket team head coach. He had the reins of the England team as head coach from 2009 to 2014, and he led them to victory in the Ashes series of 2010-11.
