India will resume playing with a full roster when it kicks off its Asia Cup 2022 campaign with players like captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja back in the mix after skipping the tour of Zimbabwe and, in Virat’s case, the West Indies. India and Pakistan play each other in the opening game of the series on Sunday for the first time since the T20 World Cup in Dubai last year. The megastars of India will be aiming to help Rohit and company even the score against Babar Azam’s outfit.

Before the key match, Wasim Akram, a former Pakistani captain and famous spinner, was asked to choose one Indian player who could unquestionably hurt Pakistan. Suryakumar Yadav was also identified by Akram as “one of his favourite players” from the modern era, even though Rohit, Kohli, and KL Rahul were the obvious choices. Suryakumar’s Indian national team debut was in March 2021. He has now evolved into an important part of the Indian hitting order. Akram, who had previously worked with Suryakumar at the Kolkata Knight Riders, was questioned about his memories of SKY. He recalled how some of the shots he had played had left him dumbfounded.

“Of course, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli are there, but one of my current favourite players, Suryakumar Yadav, is playing in this shorter format. He has performed well. I saw him play in a few games when he first joined the Kolkata Knight Riders, batting in positions seven and eight. He also hit a few shots, one of which came from the middle of his bat toward his fine leg, which was unique and difficult to make, as Star Sports, the event’s official broadcaster, revealed at a press conference.
