Ajinkya Rahane to lead Mumbai in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22
Ajinkya Rahane, the Indian Test vice-captain, will captain Mumbai in the forthcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT 2021-22), with Prithvi Shaw as his deputy. The event will take place from November 4 through November 22. The 20-member squad was announced on October 18 by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) selection committee, which is led by former India pacer Salil Ankola and includes Gulam Parkar, Sunil More, Prasad Desai, and Anand Yalvigi.
Shivam Dube, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sarfaraz Khan are among the players who have recently competed in the Indian Premier League 2021. Aditya Tare, a seasoned wicketkeeper, has also been included. Dhawal Kulkarni, a seasoned fast bowler, is part of the pace attack, which also includes Tushar Deshpande, Mohit Awasthi, and Royston Dias.
On Monday, Viren Rasquinha, a former hockey captain and Olympian, spoke with the Mumbai team about the achievements of India’s famed Olympians.
“It was fantastic to catch up with the Mumbai Ranji team before the start of the new season. Thanks to my friends Nilesh Kulkarni and Amol Muzumdar, as well as the Mumbai Cricket Association, for bringing me over to speak with the squad and for giving me an autographed team jersey,” tweeted Rasquinha, the CEO of Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ).

In your search for gold, may you come across a Mine,” On Twitter, Mumbai Head Coach Amol Muzumdar expressed his gratitude to Rasaquinha by writing, “Good wishes (sic).”
Muzumdar beat over former India all-rounder and seasoned coach Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Wasim Jaffer, Sairaj Bahutule, former Mumbai coach Sulakshan Kulkarni, Pradeep Sunderram, Nandan Phadnis, Umesh Patwal, and Vinod Raghvan for the position of Mumbai head coach earlier this year.
